Majjige Saaru Recipe. Majjige huli is a south indian version of our north indian kadi pakoda. Recipes of dosas which do not involve a whole lot of ingredients to soak and grind are my favourite kind of dosas.

You will see that as it boils, majjige huli thickens. Whisk well and prepare smooth buttermilk. Majjige saru /buttermilk rasam is as the name says rasam using buttermilk.

This is one of the malnad recipes. Cook chopped vegetables (i used chayote squash/seeme badanekaye) in a pressure cooker/microwave/on stove. Meanwhile heat a tsp of oil/ghee in pan fry raw rice, ½ tsp jeera/cumin, green chillies, ginger, coriander seeds, coconut & a string of curry leaves.

Majjige saru /buttermilk rasam is as the name says rasam using buttermilk. After they start crackling, add curry leaves, red chillies, ginger garlic paste, hing, powdered fenugreek seeds, turmeric and saute them a little bit. Further add 1 cup water, few curry leaves, ½ tsp salt and mix well.

Turn Off The Flame As Soon As The Soup/Rasam Start To Boil.

Apply salt and keep it aside for 5 to 10 min. Majjige dosa or buttermilk dosa is one of those kind of dosas. Garnish this with coriander leaves & serve it hot with piping hot rice & chips/papad.

Actual Method Of Making Paladya/Majjige Huli Is By Grinding Coconut And Soaked Channa Dal, Adding It To Buttermilk And Boiling It.

Its a quick method of doing majjige huli. Dry roast the pepper and cumin seeds and grind them to a fine powder. Add ½ cup water and blend to smooth paste.
